For anyone who is interested, and is a NPS geek like I am, I have put together a list of National Parks that participate in the B.A.R.K. Ranger program. The parks that participate can change so be sure to check with the park when you arrive. Some parks limit where a dog can hike so be sure to know the rules of the park that you are visiting.
“Yes, your pet can be a B.A.R.K. Ranger. Visit a participating park. Take the pledge. Get a dog tag with the name of the park engraved on it. The B.A.R.K Ranger program makes hiking a pawsitive experience!”
Information on NPS B.A.R.K. Ranger Program
This search on the National Park Service website shows which parks mention B.A.R.K. Ranger
Disclaimer: Some of the search results specifically mention “Stop by the Information Desk to receive your Bark Ranger Activity Checklist and receive your B.A.R.K. Ranger Dog Tag.” While other search results say “Discover what you can (and can’t) do with your pet and follow the B.A.R.K. principles.” This leaves me to wonder if they offer the B.A.R.K Ranger program or are just referring to it. Please check at the Visitor Center before assuming the park offers the program.
